Playford-to-the-Present 2024
Here are photos and videos from our Playford-to-the-Present 2024 English Country Dance Ball. We were almost back to pre-pandemic attendance for our 2024 ball, with dancers coming locally from Los Angeles, Culver City, Monrovia, Pasadena, and Anaheim, as well as out-of-towners from Northern California, San Diego, Las Vegas, and even as far as Virginia and New York. A great time was had by all.

The ball was held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the Scottish Rite Cathedral in Pasadena, California. We enjoyed wonderful dancing, expert calling, exquisite music, and fabulous company at our Final Review on Friday, October 18, our P2P Ball on Saturday, October 19, and at the HTDS advanced workshop on October 20. It was an amazing weekend, thanks to the generosity and hard work of so many people who made it happen:
- Our incredible talent for the weekend: Washington DC-based dance leader Anna Rain, our incredible trio of musicians, Audrey Jaber, Ben Jackson, and Chip Prince, and our wonderful sound engineer, Victor Garza
- Our amazing committee of volunteers, including program co-chairs Patricia Keating and Mickey Waring, registrar Aileen Poehls, program advisors James Hutson and Renée Camus, refreshments coordinator Kaye Evans, and many others on our committee who made everything run smoothly
- And of course, thanks to all of you who attended and helped make it such a magical event.
