Playford-to-the-Present Ball

Regency-dancingOur 2015 Playford-to-the-Present Ball was Saturday, October 3, 2015, at the Scottish Rite Cathedral in Pasadena.

Saturday, October 3, 2015 was our 15th Annual Southern California English Country Dance Ball with Dancing Master James Hutson and featuring music by Flutatious (Miranda Arana (flute), Bonnie Insull (flute), Jeff Spero (keyboard), Christa Burch (bodhran, vocals)).

Our 16th Annual Playford-to-the-Present Ball will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016, with special guest Dance Master Brad Foster and music by StringFire (James MacQueen, fiddle; Annie Rodier, fiddle; Patti Cobb, keyboard; Erik Ievins, cello).

Visit the P2P website for more information and tickets. See photos from our 2015 Playford-to-the-Present ball here.

The ball is geared toward experienced English Country dancers; there will be no teaching at the ball. Most dances will be briefed with a walk-through and lightly prompted. Some advanced dances will not be briefed or prompted. It is assumed that all dancers are either knowledgeable with these particular dances or are experienced enough to pick up patterns on just one walk through. Several of the dances have complex figures that will require familiarity before the day of the ball even for very experienced dancers.
